Position Overview We are seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic – Construction to join our growing team.

This role focuses on the installation and assembly of sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components on new commercial construction projects. Working under the direction of a Foreman, the Sheet Metal Mechanic plays a critical role in delivering high-quality installations safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities • Install sheet metal ductwork, fittings, and HVAC components on new construction projects • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications • Layout, measure, cut, assemble, and install duct systems per project plans • Perform welding, cutting, fastening, and sealing as required • Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and jobsite equipment • Coordinate with Foremen and other trades to maintain workflow and schedules • Follow all safety standards and maintain a clean, organized jobsite Qualifications • 2+ years of commercial sheet metal experience, preferably in new construction • Strong knowledge of ductwork installation methods and materials • Ability to read blueprints and layout work accurately • Proficient with hand tools, measuring devices, and power tools • Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused • Willingness to travel to jobsites throughout the DC-Virginia area Compensation & Benefits • Competitive hourly pay based on experience • Opportunity to work on Prevailing Wage projects, which, when available, may offer hourly rates ranging from $60–$75 per hour, depending on project location and classification.
