We are a marine and heavy construction firm that operates out of Greenport NY; However, the vast amount of our business is along the North Shore of Long Island and have bases of operation in Port Washington and Oyster Bay, NY. We operate tugboats, barges with cranes, land-based cranes, and most common types of heavy equipment. • The Position: Marine Construction / Apprentice Operator – Seeking responsible candidates to work on Dock and Seawall construction projects primarily on the North Shore of Long Island.

Some basic construction experience required, our goal is to find someone who is looking to get into heavy construction and operation of heavy equipment with a focus on marine related work. We offer a variety of on-the-job training programs and have an accredited Apprenticeship Program for Heavy Equipment Operators available to select employees that show initiative. We offer OSHA training, log sea time (for those seeking maritime licenses), Track Operator Seat time (time towards operator’s licenses) and a number of other training and certification programs.

While many employers are looking for experienced personnel or unskilled laborers, our philosophy is routed in education. Many construction workers are either untrained or are given just enough training to get them out in the field. This makes for hazardous workplaces and has allowed many workers and operators to develop bad and dangerous habits.

We operate small crews and try to cross-train workers whenever possible; whereas someone may be running a small boat in the morning then switch with the crane operator in the afternoon when it’s time to do a suitable task based on their skill level.
