Data Science Manager

Reddit, Inc. seeks Data Science Manager in San Francisco, CA:

Job Duties: Lead and grow a high-impact team of data scientists focused on optimizing the ads delivery funnel, ads quality, and marketplace dynamics. Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Drive end-to-end strategy and delivery, from ideation and experimentation to deployment and post-launch monitoring, ensuring products are performant, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to build robust products, experimentation platforms, and pipelines that accelerate iteration and ensure reliability at scale. Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing to align machine learning efforts with monetization goals. Help shape the ads roadmap by identifying opportunities through data, modeling, and experimentation. Build and maintain high- quality data foundations, including defining key data sources, ensuring ETL health, and enabling data engineering at scale for rapid analytics and model development. Deeply understand ad auctions and marketplace dynamics, including how bid distributions impact CPMs, CPCs, and revenue. Use this knowledge to guide strategy and product priorities. Promote a strong experimentation culture, ensuring rigorous A/B testing, thoughtful metric design, and clear interpretation of results across all model launches. Full-time telecommuting is an option.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering (any field) or closely related quantitative discipline and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field. Special Skill Requirements: 1) NumPy; (2) Github; (3) SQL; (4) Regression Models; (5) Tensorflow; (6) UNIX Shell/ Bash Scripting; (7) Excel; (8) Spark/ PySpark; (9) Decision Trees; (10) Python. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Full-time telecommuting is an option.

The base pay range for this position is: $217,000.00 - $303,900.00 USD
