Frontend Engineer - Junior Active Secret is preferred Hybrid-within commutable to Northern VA / DCA Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Junior Frontend Engineer for a potential opportunity. In this position, the Engineer will : • Build responsive, component-based UIs using React (or Angular / Vue) that interact with complex backend APIs. • Prototype mockups or wireframes for stakeholder presentations and reviews.

Create a comprehensive and unified library of UI components that can be utilized for all future development and can be modified for specific use cases. • Perform functional and integration testing of UI components and workflows using modern testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Mocha / Chai, etc. • Building interfaces that are responsive to all screen sizes and aligned with Government 508 Compliance requirements.
Ensure UI works with screen readers (JAWS / NVDA), keyboard navigation, and color contrast before QA. Primary Objectives : Assist in the Discovery Phase activities of gathering user requirements, business analysis, legacy system analysis, Epic / Story creation, external data integration planning, and product backlog management. Preferred Qualifications : • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems • 2+ years of designing and developing user interfaces using React or React Native.
