Automotive Technician Apprentice

After successfully completing our program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification, equipping you with the essential skills to perform glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. Your Responsibilities As an apprentice, you will be compensated while learning the Safelite methods through both practical and classroom training, which includes: • Observing and assisting in the installation and repair of auto glass. • Recalibrating automotive safety systems and conducting diagnostic tests. • Offering additional services and products to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Studying and passing assessments to become a certified Safelite Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and a positive approach to the job. • Safely operating company and customer vehicles as well as using necessary tools and chemicals throughout your day. • Complying with all company policies and standards; performing other related duties as assigned.

Benefits You'll Receive: We provide a competitive starting pay of $25.50 per hour, with potential increases to $30.25 following your training and certification. • Additional earnings of $5 for every set of wiper blades sold to customers for their safety. • An extensive benefits package valued at over $10,000, including a 401(k) plan with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, and volunteer days.

Experience Requirements • Must be at least 18 years of age. Required Skills and Abilities • Capable of regularly lifting up to 35 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. • Ability to stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, and physically maneuver.

• Competence in safely and effectively using a variety of hand and power tools. • Proficient in driving a motor vehicle in compliance with laws, and willingness to be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety technology. • Professionalism and enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service, consistently exceeding expectations.
• Competence to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures. • Ability to handle chemicals safely as per company standards. • Availability to work scheduled shifts with flexibility in start and end times to meet customer needs.
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot problems. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Ability to read, write, and interpret technical instructions and communicate effectively.
