Plumbing Apprentice

Job Title: Plumbing ApprenticeJob Description We are seeking dedicated Plumbing Apprentices for full-time, year-round positions in commercial mechanical construction projects across the MD, VA, and Washington DC Metropolitan area. Our company is committed to providing exceptional mechanical services including new construction, renovation, and maintenance of HVAC and Plumbing systems for plan-spec, design-build, and design-assist commercial and high-rise residential buildings. Responsibilities • Work alongside licensed plumbers and supervisors daily to complete projects and tasks efficiently. • Assist in diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems. • Cut and assemble pipes, and clean water supply and disposal systems.

• Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of chilled water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage, and other plumbing systems. • Help test for leaks in new and repaired systems using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety. • Follow safety guidelines set forth by the company and supervisor.
• Operate reamers, threading discs, sewer tapes, pipe cutters, snakes, and other plumbing equipment and hand tools. • Assist in inspecting joints, valves, pumps, boilers, heaters, sinks, commodes, tanks, and other plumbing system components to locate malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replacements. • Perform preventative maintenance work as required.

Essential Skills • Plumbing skills including installation and blueprint reading. • Ability to work with PVC pipes and perform pipe installation. • One year of verifiable field experience as a helper.

• Possession of own tools. • Ability to understand plans and specifications. • Strong understanding of written and verbal instructions.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. • Attendance, reliability, dependability, and flexibility. • Strong communication skills.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Upper Marlboro, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
