Job Summary Join our team as an Apprentice Marine Port Engineer, some Diesel Mechanic knowledge & Aluminum Welding experience moves you to the front of the line.

This position offers a unique opportunity to develop hands-on skills in marine engineering, diesel engine maintenance, and aluminum fabrication. You will work closely with experienced technicians to learn essential repair, maintenance, and fabrication techniques that keep marine vessels and port equipment operating smoothly. Duties • Assist in diagnosing and repairing marine engines, hydraulic systems, and port machinery • Assist with general maintenance of a fleet of 8 vessels • Support aluminum welding projects, including fabrication, assembly, and repair of marine structures and components • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering equipment, and precision measuring instruments to perform maintenance tasks accurately • Conduct routine inspections of diesel engines, electrical systems, and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance • Participate in rigging operations for lifting and positioning heavy parts or machinery safely and efficiently • Follow safety protocols during maintenance activities involving heavy lifting, welding, or electrical work • Fill in as boat deck crew if needed Preferred Skills • Service technician experience with mechanical or electrical systems • Basic electrical experience including troubleshooting with ohmmeters and wiring diagrams • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as engines, hydraulics, and rigging techniques • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, calipers, and heavy lifting techniques • Experience with heavy machinery is a plus • Fabrication skills including sheet metal work and aluminum welding using various welding techniques (e.g., MIG/TIG) • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors • Willingness to learn new skills related to marine port operations and diesel mechanics This position is designed to empower aspiring technicians in marine engineering, diesel mechanics, aluminum welding, and port equipment maintenance.
