The Manager of Space Planning will serve as a strategic partner for the AMER East and LATAM regions, bringing data and insights to drive informed decision-making into how our offices support our teams today and prepare for tomorrow. This position requires a skilled analyst and communicator who can translate complex occupancy data, workplace utilization trends, and neighborhood seating dynamics into actionable strategies—particularly for capacity-constrained sites. You'll partner closely with business units to deeply understand their unique needs, then leverage data-driven insights to share scenarios, identify opportunities, and support both current and future space demands.

Working in close alignment with Workplace Services, REWS Business Partners, Strategy, Projects, and Design teams, you'll lead space activities including FDOBs, restacks, migrations, and consolidations. Your ability to understand how workplace utilization continues to evolve—and knowledge of neighborhood seating strategies—will be critical in transforming our workspaces into dynamic, connected hubs that drive efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in space planning within hybrid workplace environments, exceptional relationship-building skills, and demonstrated excellence in data analysis and storytelling.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, AMER Global Space Planning and is based in Atlanta, New York, Indianapolis or Chicago. Job Responsibilities: Serve as the primary Space Planning point of contact for the AMER East and LATAM region overseeing all space planning activities to align real estate strategy with business unit goals and objectives. Develop and recommend scenario plans to support the expansion and contraction of the business at the site level, new office builds, restacks, refreshes, and migration plans including alternative workplace solutions. Conduct post-restack and project analysis to enhance process improvements and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Support the AMER Regional Space Planning Lead in the development of space strategy recommendations to optimize the portfolio, enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the region. Facilitate discussions, gather client requirements and provide space planning solutions to meet business unit day-to-day occupancy needs. Manage space planning related escalations while partnering with Workplace Services and REWS Business Partners to deliver solutions and communicate to key stakeholders.

Collect feedback on flexible and hybrid work and provide recommendations and solutions to meet any business specific challenges. Deliver campus/building stack, block and migration plans for all sites within the region on a quarterly basis or as needed. Assist AMER Regional Space Planning Lead and REWS Strategy to develop and maintain headcount forecasts and translate business needs into strategic mid-range (2-3 years) site plans.

Produce and present consistent reporting for the region including key occupancy metrics, trends, space utilization, attendance, forecasted growth and regional portfolio performance to key stakeholders. Maintain and ensure accurate occupancy data within the Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) platform. Support REWS Strategy with supply and demand analysis at the site-level for the region.

Create executive level presentations including blocking and stacking plans, data analysis and visualization, hybrid work solutions and space programming concepts for key stakeholders and REWS senior leadership. Oversee space and neighborhood allocations and establish desk sharing target ratios. Oversee physical space and occupancy audits for the region.

Collaborate on space needs analyses and recommend planning and utilization studies to improve space efficiency and inform future pilots. Oversee the implementation of strategic space and occupancy pilots; document key learnings; Partner with Workplace Innovation on future pilots and special projects to enhance the customer experience. Recommend, socialize and enforce space policies, standards and procedures.

Provide guidance and support to the regional space planning team. Required Skills / Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience in Space & Occupancy Planning or Workplace Services. Strong communication skills both written and with presentation development and delivery.

Expert level data analysis skills with the ability to use data to tell a story Experience working in a fast-paced environment; technology sector experience is highly desired. Proven track record in delivering exceptional customer experiences and providing best in class customer service. Experience working with cross functional teams and ability to influence and arrive at consensus.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $117,400 - $177,600 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $140,900 - $193,700 annually.

The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
