We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. General Responsibilities: Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios Continuously improve software engineering practices Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services Utilize Windsurf and other AI-powered IDEs to accelerate coding, debugging, and system design.

Design, build, and maintain robust data architectures (batch and streaming) using tools like Spark, Snowflake. AWS, Python, DevOps, Automation, AI Enabled Development Tools (Windsurf, Cursor, CoPilot, etc.,), Databricks, Snowflake, Databases, Agile Methodologies AWS, Python, Sterling FileGateway (SFG), File Transfer Protocols, DevOps, Automation, AI Enabled Development Tools (Windsurf, Cursor, CoPilot, etc.,), Databases, Agile Methodologies. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification At least 4 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory) At least 2 years of experience with AWS Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience with AWS 1+ years of hands-on experience using AI-powered coding tools (e.g., Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to boost development productivity 2+ years proven ability to integrate AI capabilities effectively into development workflows and team processes 2+ years of experience in Agile practices At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e.

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $131,300 - $149,800 for Senior Platform Engineer Richmond, VA: $119,400 - $136,200 for Senior Platform Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
