Entry Level Diesel Mechanic Trainee

Job Overview: Chesapeake Geosystems is seeking an entry-level field/ shop technician to join our team. This role offers hands-on training in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. The technician will assist in repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment both in the shop and in the field.

The ideal candidate for this role is hardworking, punctual, and responsible. Responsibilities: • Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy construction equipment (drilling rigs, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, etc.) • Preform basic service tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication • Learn to identify mechanical and electrical issues • Travel to job sites for on-site repairs and emergency services as needed • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance and repair work • Maintain a clean work area, properly store tools, and organize equipment Requirements: • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record • High school diploma or GED required, vocational training is a plus • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability Physical Demands: • Ability to lift 75+ lbs., work in various weather conditions, and travel as needed • Must be able to work 10 or more hours per day, between 45-50 hours per week Ready to start a life-long career?
