Welding Apprentice

Our client, a prominent manufacturing firm, is actively seeking dedicated and mechanically inclined individuals to join their team as Welding Apprentices in Durham, North Carolina, US . This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about the skilled trades and looking for a structured path to becoming a certified welder. You will be trained under the direct supervision of master welders, learning essential techniques such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).

Your responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of metal parts, setting up welding equipment, executing practice welds, and learning to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Safety is paramount, and you will be rigorously trained in all safety procedures and protocols pertinent to welding operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to learn, a good understanding of mechanical principles, and the physical capability to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Perform test welds and participate in quality assurance checks. Read and interpret welding blueprints, technical diagrams, and work orders. Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean and orderly condition. Collaborate with senior welders and supervisors to achieve production goals. Develop proficiency in troubleshooting common welding issues.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest in welding. Ability to learn quickly and follow detailed instructions.

Physical ability to stand, lift, and work in various positions for extended periods. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Prior experience in a manufacturing or construction setting is beneficial but not mandatory.
