Welder (3rd shift)

Job Description Welder will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other materials by applying appropriate techniques using various welding devices. Responsible for assembling or repairing damaged pieces of metal using machinery that emits high heat temperatures.

Sets up components for welding according to specifications. Accountabilities: • Weld complex weld geometry and fillets and related Hydro components • Qualified in smaw and fcaw • Setting up jobs and equipment to run efficiently • Carbon arc gouge CJP's • Grind as needed • Quality of work • Productivity • Job Knowledge • Initiative • Safety • Attendance/dependability • Communication • Cooperation Main Responsibilities: • Proficient in blue print reading except geometric tolerancing • Fully proficient with FCAW and SMAW. Able to set parameters to optimize the operation of the process(s) • Able to produce high quality welds • Grinds parts as needed per drawing and verbal instruction • Capable of operating gas cutting and air arc gouging process on all but the most challenging applications • Able to weld using larger wire sizes in many situations • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly • Keeps Supervisor informed of problems regarding work piece, schedule, safety, etc.
