Reverse Engineer-2026 Clearance Requirement: TS Location: Sterling, VA-5 days in office Minimum Experience: 5+ years Job Description: SIXGEN is actively seeking candidates to provide critical support for a variety of IC, DoD, and DoJ customers. The Embedded Engineer reverse engineers code to understand system internals with the intention of writing code to protect a platform against attacks and intrusions within an embedded environment system. Our engineers also perform reverse engineering tasks using GDB and Ghidra to find relevant functions in compiled software.

This role requires you to be a U.S. citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance. Location: In office-Sterling, Va.

Responsibilities include: • Identifying relevant functionality and internal structures through reverse engineering of compiled code that runs on a variety of computing platforms • Developing C code in the kernel and userland for embedded operating systems • Developing Python code for system analysis framework • Reverse engineering compiled code with IDA Pro, Ghidra, and radare2 • Reverse engineering embedded system hardware including black box analysis, firmware extraction, and debugging using GDB, JTAG, and other equivalent tools • Implementing automation for deployment, testing our tools, and reverse engineering • Occasional travel to other sites for technical exchanges Technologies: C, Python, C++, Git, Linux, Embedded Operating Systems, Hardware Reverse Engineering, Compilers (GCC/LLVM) Culture and Benefits: Benefits We recognize that a company is nothing without well-cared for employees; we go to great lengths to ensure that our employees are happy, supported, and constantly presented with opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
