Patient Care Tech Intern – CNA – Comprehensive Transplant Unit Full Time – Rotating shift – 36 hours per week The Patient Care Tech Intern works under the supervision of a nurse and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates. The Comprehensive Transplant Unit is a 32-bed adolescent/adult surgical unit.

The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor, telemetry, and intermediate levels of care. Care and services provided: post-operative abdominal organ (kidney, liver, and pancreas) transplant recipients; as well as medical management of complications secondary to transplantation. This unit is the designated step down for the Composite Tissue Allotransplantation (hand & face) recipients.

Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required • Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required. • Entry-level knowledge of basic clinical skills required to support nursing personnel with patient care activities and related services focused on the needs and comfort of patients.

PCT Intern will remain in an intern role for no longer than 1 year. The PCT Intern will advance to the PCT I upon meeting training requirements. • BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
