Director, Horizontal Strategy, Operational Effectiveness and Innovation

Director, Horizontal Strategy, Operational Effectiveness and Innovation Enterprise Compliance and Ethics (C&E) , part of the Enterprise Risk Organization, supports our Compliance and Ethics agenda across Capital One. The Compliance and Ethics Command Center, reporting to the C&E Chief of Staff, has 3 distinct functions: 1) Associate Experience (AX), 2) the Project Management Office and 3)Horizontal Strategy, Operational Effectiveness and Innovation. The C&E Command Center is seeking a Director, Horizontal Strategy, Operational Effectiveness and Innovation, to lead and support our horizontal operational and process effectiveness, enablement and innovation agenda.

This critical role will oversee the the design, optimization, and strategic alignment of cross-functional processes. The Director ensures operational excellence, drives efficiency, and translates transformational strategy into scalable procedures. This role requires strong expertise in strategic planning, process design, project management, change management, and cross-business collaboration to tackle broad organizational challenges.

You will collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute the vision and key focus areas for strategy, enablement, and innovation (including AI) within the Compliance & Ethics organization. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that fosters continuous learning, encourages growth, and values transformation, doing the right thing and excellence. Responsibilities: Drive and lead process improvement initiatives across C&E Support the C&E Innovation Center of Excellence and AI agenda Support top-of-house annual planning and ensure progress on related key priorities Proactively identify opportunities and lead critical, cross-functional transformation projects, defining scope, stakeholders, and resources for timely delivery Build and leverage strong relationships across teams and partners including Finance, HR, Product, Governance and Tech. Serve as a key thought partner for process improvement and innovation, optimizing operating rhythms, enablement, and engagement. based company locations up to 25% of the time Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or military experience At least 5 years of experience in strategy development At least 5 years of experience managing senior stakeholders across business functions At least 3 years of people management experience Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree 7+ years of experience working with risk leaders 7+ years of experience managing senior stakeholders across business functions 7+ years of experience in strategy development At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Project Management Richmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Project Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
