Senior Software Engineer, Frontend Builds & Tooling - Slack The Frontend Developer Experience team empowers developers to write, build, test, and deploy code seamlessly across mobile, desktop, and multiple operating systems while solving unique scaling challenges. That means improving reliability, speeding up feedback loops, reducing cognitive load, and actively listening to developer pains to prioritize the work that matters most. What You Will Be Doing • You’ll speed up our frontend development cycle by making Slack’s frontend builds faster and more performant • You’ll brainstorm novel solutions to big, challenging problems to make engineer’s lives simpler and more productive • You’ll collaborate with your team and others to bring these solutions to life • You’ll trace, measure and improve the performance characteristics of our internal systems • You’ll improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the Slack org • You'll identify gaps and challenges, explore potential solutions, and build a roadmap for frontend tooling.

You’ll mentor other engineers and deeply review code Requirements 8+ years experience writing JavaScript or TypeScript 5+ years experience with configuring and optimizing modern frontend toolchains and build tools (i.e. Webpack, Rspack) 5+ year experience building and debugging complex systems in a team environment 5+ year experience with CI/CD tools 3+ years experience with tsc and/or tsgo Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and empathy Self-motivation and the ability to take initiative independently, learn quickly, and meet deadlines. At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $172,500 - $260,100 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $207,800 - $285,800 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
