About the Team As a Software Development Engineer on the Workday Federal team, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience for our Knowledge and Case Management product.

You'll collaborate closely with customers, product managers, UX, and design teams to tackle real user problems, contributing across the full development stack from product discussions to front-end coding with TypeScript. Our technology includes a Kotlin microservice and Workday's proprietary XO stack; we're investing in XO and will offer dedicated training to help you develop these skills. You'll also have the opportunity to develop skills in the growing field of Generative AI as we integrate it to enhance our products, building features like our article summarization tool, case summary tool, and exploring new AI applications.

About the Role Be involved in mentoring to other team members and welcome mentorship for yourself Use your technical expertise to contribute towards building a best-in-class product Contribute to sharing knowledge within the team and wider organization Be a strong advocate for the development process, engineering standards, quality and culture of continuous improvement Contribute to technical requirements, architecture, and help drive UX / design direction Be in the office at least 50% of the time to collaborate and create lasting relationships with your team and the wider organization Bond with your teammates to build and embody a strong engineering culture About You Basic Qualification 3+ years experience building enterprise-level software with a focus on performance, scalability, and security 4+ years experience with Object-Oriented Design and Programming, data modelling, structures, and algorithms (Kotlin/Java preferred) 3+ years experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs, and modern front-end frameworks (React preferred) 2+ years experience in working and collaborating with teams with varied strengths in a dynamic, rapid growth environment using Scrum successfully Other Qualification A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Ability to balance multiple priorities and communicate across organizational boundaries Familiar with virtualisation and build technologies such as Docker, VMware, Webpack, Gradle and Jenkins Experience with LangGraph tool chain (LangGraph, LangSmith) Experience with prompt engineering You see software development as a team sport, and thrive in a highly collaborative, agile culture where you’re always teaching and learning Strong written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work smoothly with both technical and non-technical audiences Workday Pay Transparency Statement The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
