Full Stack React Engineer (with focus on AI integrations) This is a hybrid remote position requiring 2 days per week onsite in our Fairfax, Virginia office. Long-term 5 year project. Position Summary.

• Vanguard DevOps (www.vanguard-devops.ai) is seeking an experienced Full Stack React and AI Engineer to lead the design and development of React applications with a strong focus on integrating Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). • Candidate will be reponsible for leading the design and development of React applications, as well as the development and integration of cutting edge AI Agents, Agentic Workflows and Gen AI services that solve complex business problems. • In addition to strong React development skills, this role requires proficiency in Python, Gen AI Patterns, Prompt Engineering, Large Language Models (LLMs), and RAG • Candidate will work alongside full stack developers, UX designers, product managers and data engineers to shape and implement enterprise-grade Gen AI solutions.

Security Clearance: This position REQUIRES the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance Core Responsibilities React Development • SPA & AI Architecture: Design robust, scalable React single-page applications; implement high-performance UI patterns for real-time AI streaming (Server-Sent Events) to ensure a fluid, responsive user experience. • Contextual RAG Interfaces: Design and implement UI components for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), allowing users to query mission-critical documentation with grounded citations. • Dynamic Validation: Build sophisticated, schema-based validation using Zod.

You will be responsible for syncing these schemas with our backend Java-based OpenAPI specifications. • Client-Side Routing: Manage complex navigation and "Form Steppers" using React Router • State Management: Architect a clean data-fetching layer with TanStack Query to handle auto-saves, draft persistence, and optimistic UI updates. • Security Integration: Implement secure OIDC authentication patterns, managing JWTs within the browser environment following industry best practices.

• Contract-First Collaboration: Work closely with the Java/Spring Boot team to define and consume RESTful APIs. Gen AI/ML Development and Integration • Architect and implement scalable AI Agents, Agentic Workflows and GenAI applications to address diverse and complex business use cases. • Integrate GenAI solutions with enterprise platforms via API based methods and GenAI standardized patterns.
• Design and deploy RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG) and Graph RAG systems using vector databases and knowledge bases. • Curate enterprise data using connectors integrated with AWS Bedrock's Knowledge Base/Elastic • Implement solutions leveraging MCP (Model Context Protocol) and A2A (Agentto-Agent) communication. • Build and maintain Jupyterbased notebooks using platforms like SageMaker and MLFlow/Kubeflow on Kubernetes (EKS).
• Establish and enforce validation procedures with Evaluation Frameworks, bias mitigation, safety protocols, and guardrails for productionready deployment. • Design & build robust ingestion pipelines that extract, chunk, enrich, and anonymize data from PDFs, video, and audio sources for use in LLMpowered workflows—leveraging best practices like semantic chunking and privacy controls • Orchestrate multimodal pipelines using scalable frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, PySpark) for automated ETL/ELT workflows appropriate for unstructured media • Implement embeddings drives—map media content to vector representations using embedding models, and integrate with vector stores to support RAG architectures Required Technical Skills • 5+ Years React: Mastery of Hooks, Context, and Composition patterns. • 3+ Years TypeScript: Professional-grade skills, specifically with Zod or Yup for runtime validation.
• 2+ Years of AI Development: integrating frontend applications with AI services (Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, or Azure OpenAI). • Strong proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). • Form Expertise: Mastery of React Hook Form (useFieldArray, Controller) for deeply nested, high-field-count data structures.
• Experience with Orval, OpenAPI Generator, or similar tools to automatically generate React Query or SWR hooks directly from your OpenAPI spec, and automate the synchronization of TypeScript types with Java backends. • State Management: High proficiency with TanStack Query (React Query) for managing server state and caching (or recommend alternative best practices). Additional Desired Skills • Experience with Django, FastAPI • Knowledge of AI UX Best Practices (handling hallucinations, human-in-the-loop validation).
• Experience with Vector & Graph Visualization (D3.js, Recharts) for AI-driven data relationships. • Experience in "Contract-First" development. • Prior experience building large, complex federal data-entry systems.
