As a Senior Associate Business Analyst within the SHARP (Strategic Health, Advanced Analytics, Reliability, & Prevention) organization, you won't just analyze data—you will architect the intelligence that drives our business strategy.

From optimizing the lifecycle of Early Pay ACH to partner-facing work with Operations, Product/Tech and Risk teams, you will leverage deep-dive analytics to influence enterprise priorities. What You’ll Do Drive Strategic Influence: Perform advanced modeling and trend analysis to provide the "so-what" that allows business leaders to make smarter, data-driven decisions on payment products and systems. Architect Payment Health: Act as an evangelist for business needs, unearthing unknowns in the payment lifecycle and identifying high-leverage initiatives to improve quality, volume, and profitability.

Lead Advanced Analytics: Move beyond monitoring to identify behavioral shifts and friction patterns. You will own the "data story," converting raw findings into tangible outcomes for our LOB partners. Engineer Reliability: Partner with DA, Process Engineers and Monitoring teams to triage complex anomalies and develop automated, scorecard-based playbooks for root-cause resolution.

Pioneer ML/GenAI Solutions: Be a tenacious decision-maker in the development of "Smart Assist" tools, ensuring our knowledge management and operational updates are supported by rigorous evidence and technical excellence. General Responsibilities: Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations Product: Perform modeling/analytics to assist new product and pricing strategies for various lending products Marketing: Support direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel.

Help build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go to market strategies Credit Risk: Support step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis Execution: Involve problem frame-works, develop hypotheses, test and analysis, solution development, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring plan Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Previous consulting experience is a plus Basic Qualifications: At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building 1+ years of experience in market research 1+ years of experience in SQL querying 2+ years of experience in business analysis 1+ years of experience in consulting Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Business Analyst Richmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr.

Business Analyst Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
