Certified Nursing Assistant (Full Time)

Category: Clinical Description: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support to nursing staff and ensures the well-being of patients in a hospital setting. This role involves direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Minimum qualifications: • Deferred based on Washington licensure.

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification in the State of Washington with annual renewal required. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire through American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent organization. • One-year recent experience as a nursing assistant in a patient/resident care setting preferred.

Primary job responsibilities: • Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility. • Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration. • Patient Mobility: Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ambulation to promote comfort and prevent falls.

• Personal Hygiene: Provide or assist with personal hygiene tasks, including oral care, toileting, and incontinence care. • Feeding Assistance: Help patients with eating and drinking, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met. • Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, behaviors, or complaints to the nursing staff.
• Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, vital signs, and observations in the medical record. • Safety and Infection Control: Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment. • Emotional Support: Provide compassionate and empathetic support to patients and their families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. • Equipment and Supplies: Assist with the use of medical equipment and ensure that supplies are stocked and readily available. • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist with emergency procedures as needed.
