Mechanic - Commercial Vehicle - Fleet Maintenance Shop (Entry Level / Apprentice Track)

We are hiring a Commercial Vehicle mechanic to support our fleet maintenance operations. This role is ideal for someone with foundational automotive experience who is looking to build a long-term career working on gasoline and diesel-powered commercial vehicles. You'll be part of a team responsible for keeping a high-utilization fleet safe, reliable, and on the road.

We provide hands-on training, mentorship, and a clear path to advance into a senior technician role. Key Responsibilities • Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles, including: • Oil and filter changes • Brake inspections and repairs • Tire mounting, balancing, and rotations • Multi-point inspections • Assist with diagnosis and repair of gas and diesel engines • Conduct basic troubleshooting of 12-volt electrical systems • Identify maintenance issues early to reduce downtime and costly repairs • Complete work orders and inspection reports using basic computer systems • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment • Work collaboratively with technicians and fleet managers to meet uptime goals Minimum Qualifications • 1+ year of experience in: • Automotive repair or quick lube environment • OR completion of a trade/vocational school program (accepted in place of experience) • Basic tool set including: • Standard & metric sockets/wrenches • Ratchets, screwdrivers, and common hand tools • Strong reliability and punctuality • Willingness to learn and take direction • Team-oriented with solid communication and interpersonal skills • Basic computer knowledge (work orders, inspection systems, etc.) • Sound understanding of: • Preventative maintenance processes • Brakes, tires, and inspections • Basic 12-volt electrical systems Preferred Qualifications • Experience with: • Commercial fleet vehicles • Heavy-duty trucks or equipment • Air brake systems • ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer • Structured career growth path (Apprentice → Technician → Senior Tech) • On-the-job training with experienced fleet technicians • Consistent, stable work (no flat-rate uncertainty) • Competitive pay based on experience • Exposure to diesel and heavy-duty systems • Support for ASE certification and skill development • Team-oriented, professional shop environment Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
