Job Description

Front End Developer Geo CGI is seeking Front End Developers (Junior, Mid, and Senior levels) to support mission-driven work alongside the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and key partners, including Esri. In this role, you'll build modern, scalable web applications that support geospatial intelligence and analytics in a high-impact environment. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned developer, you'll contribute to user-focused solutions that support real-world intelligence and mapping operations.

The primary onsite location will be either the NGA office at 2301 Cass Ave, St. Louis, Missouri or the NGA office at 7500 GEOINT Drive, Springfield, Virginia. Junior: 1–5 years of experience with front-end development fundamentals Mid-Level: 3–7 years of experience building and maintaining modern web applications, with the ability to work independently Senior: 7+ years of experience leading front-end architecture, design decisions, and scalable UI development, with mentorship or team leadership responsibilities Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop modern web applications and user interfaces.

  • Build responsive, high-performance front-end solutions using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript. • Develop applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. • Collaborate with backend developers, GIS specialists, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and usability. • Support deployment and maintenance of high-availability systems. • Participate in requirements gathering and translate user needs into functional designs.
  • Troubleshoot and enhance existing applications. Requirements of the Front-End Developer: • U.S. Citizen with Active Top Secret Clearance (SCI eligible) or current within the last 2 years. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Mathematics, or related STEM field (or equivalent experience).

  • Junior: 1–5 years of experience ($75,000-$110,000) • Mid-Level: 3–10+ years of experience ($100,000-$140,000) • Senior: 5–10+ years of experience, including leadership or architecture contributions ($120,000-$180,000) • Minimum 2 years of experience in web design and front-end development. • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript. • Experience with modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.).
  • Experience building scalable, high-performance web applications. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Preferred of the Front-End Developer: • Experience supporting cloud-based GIS systems (AWS, Azure, or similar).
  • Experience supporting geospatial or GIS-based applications. • Familiarity working in secure or classified environments. • Experience collaborating with federal or defense agencies.
  • Understanding of UI/UX best practices. • Exposure to Esri technologies or geospatial platforms. The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $75,000 $180,000 USD.
