Data Analyst (Entry-Level / Junior) – Role Description & Qualifications We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Entry-Level / Junior Data Analyst to support data collection, analysis, and reporting activities that enable informed business decision-making. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with data, uncovering insights, and translating information into clear, actionable recommendations. The Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering, cleaning, and organizing datasets from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
The role involves performing exploratory data analysis, identifying trends and patterns, and supporting the creation of reports and dashboards that communicate key business insights. Key responsibilities include working with structured and unstructured data, preparing datasets for analysis, and generating regular and ad hoc reports for stakeholders. The analyst will also assist in monitoring key performance indicators, supporting data validation processes, and contributing to data quality improvements.
The role includes creating visualizations and summaries that help teams understand business performance, operational trends, and customer behavior. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs, define metrics, and ensure data outputs align with business objectives. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work with numbers and datasets in a structured way.
A solid foundation in statistics, data interpretation, and logical problem-solving is highly desirable. Candidates should have familiarity with Excel and basic knowledge of data analysis tools or programming languages such as SQL or Python. Exposure to data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is an advantage but not required at entry level.
Strong communication skills are important for presenting findings clearly and working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accuracy, and work in a collaborative environment is essential. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Understanding of basic data concepts such as data cleaning, aggregation, and visualization is highly valued. The successful candidate is curious, eager to learn, and motivated by solving problems using data. A proactive mindset, adaptability, and a strong interest in analytics and business insights are key traits for success in this role.
