Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, acute care, and community-based services. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care.

Experience with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation is preferred. The CNA will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of patients by assisting with daily activities, vital signs, medication administration, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.

• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff. • Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques under supervision. • Support patients with specialized needs in memory care units, Alzheimer's care, behavioral health settings, and hospice environments.
• Document patient information thoroughly in EMR/EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. • Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols and safety procedures in high-acuity environments like ICU or trauma centers.
• Assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure comfort during movement. • Educate patients and families about health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care instructions. • Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control practices and proper medical documentation procedures.

Qualifications • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required. • Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU, emergency medicine, Level I & II trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health is highly desirable. • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA regulations.

• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks preferred. • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification is required. • Experience with specialized care including dementia/Alzheimer’s/dementia care, behavioral health, pediatric or geriatric populations is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and compassionate attitude toward patients of all ages and backgrounds. • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or post-acute settings. • Flexibility to work various shifts including day shifts; experience working in acute or sub-acute care environments is advantageous.
