The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. A role in Third Party Risk Management means enabling Target’s business to make informed, risk-aware decisions while advancing key business objectives. This role is accountable for advancing the enterprise Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) due diligence strategy and serves as a subject matter authority across the vendor/partner lifecycle.
The role will be accountable to define, prioritize, and execute against program objectives, including both strategic initiatives and complex risk determinations. You’ll help protect Target’s interests by ensuring we understand, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with third-party partnerships, while promoting Relationship Management best practices across the vendor lifecycle – planning, due diligence, contracting, ongoing monitoring, and termination. As a Third-Party Risk Management Lead Consultant, you will: Vendor Intelligence & Risk Analysis Lead and standardize TPRM’s vendor intelligence methodologies across financial health, experience, and reputation reviews.
Serve as the subject matter expert for due diligence and ongoing monitoring of high-risk guest-facing third parties, leading complex risk evaluations that require significant judgment and determining risk tiering, ongoing monitoring approach, and engagement viability with direct impact to enterprise risk tolerance. Synthesize complex, multi-dimensional risk data into enterprise-relevant insights, influencing business decisions with significant financial, regulatory, and reputational impact. Serve as the primary third-party risk expert in engagements with senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making and challenging assumptions where risk exposure is not aligned to enterprise tolerance.
Own the development of executive-level risk profiles for Target’s most critical third parties, shaping how risk is communicated and governed at the enterprise level. Ongoing Monitoring Strategy & Governance Design and evolve ongoing monitoring strategies for third-party risk, including identification of emerging risks, enhancement of monitoring frameworks, and integration of external intelligence sources. Define and govern enterprise TPRM reporting and analytics, ensuring risk insights are useful for decision-making and aligned to senior leadership needs.
Program Enablement Establish enterprise standards and operating models for relationship management across all commercial business units, driving consistency, accountability, and measurable risk reduction. Influence cross-functional and cross-pyramid stakeholders, including Commercial, Corporate Affairs, and Enterprise Risk Management, to align third-party risk practices with enterprise objectives. Define and lead enterprise capability-building strategy for third-party risk management, including development of training frameworks and scalable enablement solutions.
Lead the design and transformation of TPRM processes, including identifying and implementing novel solutions that improve efficiency, risk visibility, and business adoption. Establish and drive TPRM program OKRs, aligning priorities to enterprise risk strategy and ensuring measurable impact on business outcomes. Operate with a high degree of autonomy, setting direction within the due diligence domain and making independent decisions on complex and ambiguous risk matters.
Serve as an internal and external subject matter expert in third-party risk management, maintaining awareness of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks, and incorporating leading practices into Target’s TPRM strategy. About you: Four-year degree or equivalent experience Comfortable working in ambiguity and adjusting to shifting business needs 4+ years of experience in third-party risk management, enterprise risk, or related discipline, including ownership of complex risk domains or programs. Experience building training modules, SharePoint sites/newsletters, Confluence process flows, etc. Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and simply Ability to simplify complex processes and focus on high-impact, strategic priorities Strong interest in leveraging genAI tools to evaluate new ways of working Skillful in handling confidential information with discretion Demonstrated ability to lead highly complex, cross-functional initiatives with enterprise impact, influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
Demonstrated track record of designing and implementing innovative solutions that materially improve risk outcomes or operational efficiency. Results-driven with a demonstrated history of executing on goals and timelines Preferred Qualifications: Certified Regulatory Vendor Program Manager (CRVPM) designation or equivalent Proficient in enterprise tools (LogicGate, Ariba, Supplier Management, Vendor Maintenance and Management, Domo, Confluence) and gen ai tools This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
