Position Summary... We are looking for a seasoned and energetic Senior Software engineer who can drive the development of the platform working with a group of high energy engineers, architects, product managers and report to leadership team. This role requires to be technically strong and able to develop in a fast paced environment.
The candidate is expected to work with global teams, provide thought leadership, understand the business context and help building right solutions, work with product and program managers to plan the releases, participate in sprint planning and handle deployments to production. About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization. As a Senior Software Engineer you will develop software systems and solve complex problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. You will collaborate with and execute major cross platform executions as a team, or independently when needed.
What you'll do: As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll lead the development of world-class iOS applications that power Walmart’s e-commerce experience. You will: • Design and build scalable, high-performance iOS applications using modern design patterns and technologies. • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, secure, and intuitive mobile experiences.
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design sessions, and mentoring junior engineers. • Own end-to-end feature delivery—from ideation and prototyping to deployment and production monitoring. • Optimize app performance, reliability, and battery efficiency using profiling tools and crash analytics.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues leveraging observability platforms like OpenObserve. • Design and implement modular architectures that integrate with GraphQL APIs and microservices backends. • Implement and maintain automation testing frameworks for unit, functional, and end-to end (E2E)testing to ensure high-quality releases.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party SDKs and APIs to enhance app functionality and customer engagement. • Champion continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and technologies. • Stay current with Apple’s ecosystem, iOS trends, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
What you'll bring: • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. • 6+ years of professional experience in iOS development, with a strong portfolio of e commerce applications. • Deep expertise in Swift, Objective-C, UIKit, SwiftUI, and Apple’s development frameworks.
- Proven experience architecting complex, modular, and testable mobile applications. • Strong understanding of GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous programming. • Experience working with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management. • Proficiency in troubleshooting and performance optimization using tools like OpenObserve, crash analytics, and profilers. • Solid experience in automation testing, including writing and maintaining unit, functional, and E2E test suites.
- Familiarity with mobile analytics, A/B testing, and personalization strategies. • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a passion for mentoring and team development. • A customer-first mindset and a drive to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions at scale.
