Junior Backend Software Developer

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated developer to become part of a supportive, Agile team that focuses on building the Back End of a sophisticated enterprise-level application utilizing a modern, cloud-hosted microservices architecture. What You Will Do: • Design, develop, and maintain Back End services for an enterprise-class web application, collaborating closely with Senior Engineers to produce high-quality, modular code.

• Utilize Java and the Spring/Spring Boot framework in conjunction with object-oriented design to develop robust applications that interact with relational databases. • Create solutions employing microservices, containerization techniques, and RESTful components, leveraging DevOps pipelines for swift delivery. • Incorporate cloud-native services outlined by the Architects, such as API Gateway and S3, with mentorship from Senior Engineers throughout the development process.
• Cooperate with Frontend developers to build service APIs that guarantee seamless integration with the user interface. • Work with Business Analysts to refine User Stories that prioritize user experience and actionable requirements. • Collaborate with QA Engineers to devise automated testing procedures.
• Implement secure coding practices to safeguard the application, addressing potential vulnerabilities early in the development cycle. • Follow established roles and coding standards for sensitive data management, receiving guidance from Senior Engineers. • Contribute to the architecture of services and APIs that meet application and cloud standards, upholding team coding conventions.
• Embrace opportunities for support and mentorship in a collaborative team environment. • Deliver functional, thoroughly tested software that meets quality, security, performance, and user experience standards. • Communicate clearly with team members and leadership regarding challenges, assisting each other as needed.
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation and API specifications, along with in-code comments. • Apply innovative thinking and software engineering principles to resolve technical challenges. What You Will Need: • U.S.

Citizenship. • Four (4) years of relevant experience. • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.

• Capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. • Experience with the following technologies: • Java and Spring framework (or JEE), Spring Boot, and RESTful API-based integration. • Containerization and microservices in service-oriented architectures.
• Knowledge of modern security practices and Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC). • Proficient in developing and utilizing REST APIs. • Strong understanding of relational databases and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA).
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3 and API Gateway. • Experience working in Agile development with an emphasis on feedback-driven improvement. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under technical guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of showcasing your work to the team and Product Owner. What Would Be Nice to Have: • Hands-on experience with AWS services like EKS and SQS. • Understanding of message-driven design patterns.
• Background in financial systems. • Some experience in UI development (Angular, React). The salary range for this position is $98,000 - $163,000, depending on various factors including skillset, experience, and security clearances.
