Asset Manager - Agency Finance Asset Management - Fannie Mae The Asset Manager is a key member of the Agency Finance Asset Management team, primarily responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of multifamily Fannie Mae loans and processing Transfers of Ownership. This role serves as the lead for evaluating complex Transfers of Interest—including changes to equity ownership or organizational structure—ensuring all transactions comply with Investor consent requirements. You will maintain a primary focus on risk mitiga tion while delivering exceptional customer service across the Fannie Mae platform.

​ Responsibilities: Transfer of Ownership Leadership: Direct the evaluation and processing of Transfers of Interest, ensuring rigorous review of direct and indirect ownership changes to maintain loan and asset quality. Portfolio Management: Manage all aspects of an assigned Fannie Mae multifamily portfolio, serving as the primary point of contact for borrower requests and lender requirements. Credit & Financial Analysis: Analyze property operating statements, rent rolls, and borrower financial statements to identify operational performance concerns.

Lender Consent Requests: Process complex and routine consent requests, including management changes, partial releases of security, easements, loan modifications, etc. in strict accordance with the Fannie Mae DUS Guide. Property Surveillance: Conduct physical on-site inspections to evaluate property conditions and ensure compliance with Fannie Mae investor standards.

Risk Detection & Monitoring: Perform ongoing risk analysis and trend monitoring to identify potential credit issues early, ensuring appropriate monitoring and mitigation for high-risk assets. Investor Reporting: Prepare loan and portfolio-level status reports that comply with all Fannie Mae monitoring and reporting requirements. Client Relationship Management: Provide excellent customer service while firmly enforcing loan document and lender requirements .

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or military experience At least 4 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) At least 3 years of experience with Government Sponsored Enterprises (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) or CMBS asset management Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics At least 3 years specifically in loan asset management, with a track record of processing complex lender consent requests Demonstrated experience with Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae transfer consent products Freddie Mac Certified Inspector status or equivalent field inspection experience Advanced proficiency in financial modeling (Proficiency in analyzing property operating statements, rent rolls, and borrower financial statements and in modeling complex financial scenarios) Strong written and oral communication skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Charlotte, NC: $119,400 - $136,200 for Agency Asset Manager I Houston, TX: $119,400 - $136,200 for Agency Asset Manager I McLean, VA: $131,300 - $149,800 for Agency Asset Manager I Plano, TX: $119,400 - $136,200 for Agency Asset Manager I Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
