The Practices Senior Manager is a strategic technical leader responsible for guiding enterprise customers through the successful design, deployment, integration, and adoption of Slack across complex organizational environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with executive-level consulting, helping some of the world’s largest organizations transform how teams communicate, collaborate, and operate.

As a key member of the Professional Services organization, the Practices Senior Manager partners closely with customer stakeholders, Sales, Success, Architects, and Product teams to architect scalable Slack solutions that align with business goals, security standards, and enterprise technology ecosystems. This role is ideal for a consultative technology leader who thrives at the intersection of enterprise architecture, collaboration strategy, systems integration, and customer transformation. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Solution Strategy & Technical Leadership Lead strategic technical discovery sessions and customer workshops to assess organizational structure, collaboration needs, governance requirements, and enterprise architecture.

Design scalable Slack deployment strategies that support enterprise-wide adoption, operational efficiency, and long-term business growth. Translate complex technical and business requirements into tailored Slack solutions focused on usability, flexibility, security, and adoption. Serve as a trusted advisor to both technical and executive stakeholders throughout the customer lifecycle.

Architecture, Integration & Platform Enablement Architect enterprise-grade Slack environments including: Workspace strategy User provisioning and lifecycle management Authentication and identity management Security controls and governance Permissions and administrative settings Bots, workflows, and custom integrations Advise customers on the implementation of Slack APIs, developer frameworks, and integration best practices. Ensure seamless interoperability with enterprise systems and SaaS platforms including GitHub, Jira, Workday, Google Workspace, identity providers, eDiscovery platforms, and DLP solutions. Remove technical barriers to large-scale deployment and organization-wide software distribution.

Support the customization of client applications and automation workflows to optimize user experience and business productivity. Customer Engagement & Advisory Excellence Facilitate customer-facing workshops that align technical execution with business transformation objectives. Present complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling way to diverse audiences ranging from developers and architects to business leaders and executives.

Partner with customers to scope, validate, and refine solutions for unique enterprise use cases. Act as a strategic advisor throughout implementation, ensuring alignment between customer expectations, technical execution, and adoption goals. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Success, Consultants, System Integrators, and Product teams to drive successful outcomes.

Delivery & Organizational Impact Maintain strong billable utilization while delivering high-quality customer engagements. Lead and influence complex technical initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups and enterprise environments. Build deep expertise in Slack’s platform capabilities and broader enterprise architecture technologies.

Contribute feedback and implementation insights to Salesforce and Slack product teams to enhance future platform capabilities. Support the evolution of technical methodologies, deployment frameworks, and best practices across Professional Services. What Success Looks Like Successful Practices Senior Managers: Build trusted relationships with enterprise customers and technical stakeholders.

Design secure, scalable collaboration environments that drive measurable business value. Translate complex technical ecosystems into streamlined, user-centric Slack experiences. Enable rapid adoption by removing friction from deployment and integration processes.

Confidently lead strategic technical conversations across both business and IT audiences. Deliver enterprise implementations that balance governance, security, flexibility, and innovation. Required Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a related field.

2–3+ years of experience in development, consulting, professional services, solutions engineering, or technical customer-facing roles. Strong experience leading and delivering technical implementation projects within enterprise environments. Hands-on proficiency with at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Node.js, or Python.

Experience working with APIs, integrations, automation, and data exchange technologies. Demonstrated ability to scope, define, and manage technical workstreams and customer solutions. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, SaaS ecosystems, security, and identity management concepts.

Experience collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, Consultants, and System Integrators. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Preferred Leadership Traits Strong consultative mindset with a passion for customer transformation.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $150,100 - $227,000 annually There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $180,200 - $247,900 per year.
