The team comprises legal professionals from diverse fields, including technology, privacy, IP, corporate, cybersecurity, employment, tax, regulatory, and litigation.

About the Role As a Senior Legal Program Manager focused on regulatory compliance, you will lead and manage large-scale, cross-functional initiatives to ensure OpenAI meets its obligations under evolving global regulatory frameworks. Your work will span areas such as AI governance, risk management, transparency, as well as privacy and model compliance. This role places you at the center of emerging legal and compliance challenges in artificial intelligence.

You will collaborate closely with other legal program managers and product teams, and partner with internal and external counsel to build and execute compliance programs that scale. This is a unique opportunity to shape how cutting-edge AI technology is responsibly developed and deployed within a complex legal and regulatory landscape.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role, you will: - Lead global compliance for hardware launches, ensuring products meet regulatory and consumer law obligations across all launch jurisdictions.

  • Monitor and manage global regulatory requirements for hardware, including tracking regulatory developments and updating compliance plans accordingly. - Own requirements tracking for physical product compliance, including packaging inserts, labeling, and consumer disclosures across markets. - Drive launch readiness for warranties and consumer terms, partnering closely with Product Marketing and Legal.
  • Identify risks and drive cross-functional resolution strategies in collaboration with subject-matter experts. You might thrive in this role if you: - 8+ years of experience in program or project management. - Experience managing programs at a fast-paced technology company.
  • Deep experience building and scaling hardware compliance programs. - Proven ability to drive complex cross-functional programs, set milestones, and synthesize input from diverse stakeholders. - Strong ability to operate in ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with strong ownership and judgment. About OpenAI OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity. We push the boundaries of the capabilities of AI systems and seek to safely deploy them to the world through our products.

We now show two types of job listings

Same commitment to real jobs. More opportunities for you. Here's how it works.

✓ Verified Employer-Verified Posts

These jobs were posted directly to RJRP by the employer. The company has been verified through our multi-step process. This is our gold standard — the employer is real, the job is real, and you can apply with confidence.

✓ 100% employer verified
🔍 Observed Market-Observed Roles

These roles were detected through employer hiring systems like Workday. They haven't been verified by the employer directly, so we score each one using our Hiring Activity Score — an algorithm that analyzes freshness, specificity, company hiring patterns, and more to estimate whether the role is actively being filled.

📊 Only high-scoring listings are shown

Our promise hasn't changed. We will never show you a listing we can't stand behind. Market-observed roles must pass our scoring threshold before they appear on RJRP. Anything that looks like a ghost job, a talent pipeline, or a dead listing gets filtered out — you'll never see it.
