Job Description
About the Team The B2B Marketing team contributes to OpenAI’s broader mission of ensuring responsible and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. We are responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and usage for OpenAI’s products and platform across SMB, enterprise, and developer audiences. The SMB Sales team is responsible for helping businesses around the world understand, adopt, and succeed with OpenAI’s products.
As OpenAI scales across regions, vendors, and sales motions, we are building the operating systems that ensure our frontline teams can execute with consistency, quality, and speed. We partner closely with Sales Leadership, Vendor Management, Program Management, Revenue Operations, Product, and vendor leadership to design scalable commercial motions and ensure sellers are prepared to deliver high-quality customer experiences. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and operational rigor.
About the Role We are hiring a global Readiness & Enablement Lead to build and scale the onboarding, training, quality, certification, and seller readiness operating system across OpenAI’s outsourced SMB Sales vendor network. This is not a traditional training coordinator role. We are looking for a builder who can design scalable readiness frameworks, identify performance risks early, and create repeatable systems that help sellers ramp faster, perform better, and maintain high quality as the business evolves.
This role is global by design. You’ll travel across vendor sites, inspect frontline execution, calibrate quality firsthand, and ensure consistent readiness standards across regions, vendors, and sales motions. The core principle is simple: training is not an event; readiness is a system.
In this role, you will: - Build and scale global onboarding, readiness, and certification frameworks across SMB sales vendors, regions, and sales motions - Create role-based onboarding paths, knowledge checks, pass/fail standards, and ramp expectations for vendor sellers - Ensure vendor trainers can deliver readiness programs consistently and at scale - Design enablement for new products, pricing changes, process updates, and motion launches - Monitor ramp quality, certification performance, productivity curves, and early quality signals to identify risk early - Build dashboards, inspection mechanisms, and feedback loops that connect readiness to seller performance and quality outcomes - Partner with Vendor Managers, Sales Leadership, RevOps, Product, Program Management, and vendor leaders to diagnose and close execution gaps - Creating scalable knowledge systems and AI-enabled workflows that improve onboarding speed, knowledge retention, and readiness inspection You might thrive in this role if you have: - 8+ years of experience in sales enablement, readiness, onboarding, training operations, vendor enablement, or scaled commercial operations - Direct experience supporting outsourced sales teams, BPO environments, or large distributed sales organizations - Experience operating in software, SaaS, cloud, ads, or another high-velocity commercial environment - Proven ownership of onboarding, ramp quality, certification programs, and seller readiness outcomes - Strong understanding of sales funnel performance, quality frameworks, frontline coaching, and manager effectiveness - Executive presence, strong operational discipline, and the ability to influence vendor leaders and internal cross-functional stakeholders Workplace & Location This role will be based in San Francisco, CA or New York City. Relocation will be required for this role if you are not located in either of these locations, and regular travel will be part of this role. Compensation Range: $239K - $265K USD About OpenAI OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity.
